The Goody's Dash Series Gets Ready to Head Back To Bristol Motor Speedway

Daytona Beach, FL (August 8, 2003) — The Goody's Dash Series makes it return to the most famous short track of them all, the .533 mile high banked oval of Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday August 20, 2003. This will mark the 20th appearance for the Goody's Dash Series at the famed Bull Ring of Bristol Motor Speedway. Bristol has been the site for some the most exciting as well as dramatic racing in Goody’s Dash Series, NASCAR Touring history.

The Goody's Dash Series first made its debut at Bristol Motor Speedway 29 years ago. Goody's Dash Series legend Dean Combs picked the very first win by a Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring driver at Bristol Motor Speedway back on November 1, 1975. Combs went on to capture a record four wins at Bristol Motor Speedway the most by any Goody's Dash Series driver. Since than the list of winners reads like a NASCAR's who's who from drivers like Hut Stricklin, to present drivers such as Robert Huffman.

The stage will be set at Bristol Motor Speedway for Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring points leader Robert Huffman (No. 37 White House Apple Juice Toyota) as he could make history at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Claremont, NC native is coming off his 41st career win at Kentucky Speedway and if can capture another win or a top five finish he could seal him self into Goody's dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championship history by tying him with Goody's Dash Series legend Ned Combs for five Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring championships and the first ever NASCAR Championship for Toyota.

"I love racing at Bristol we have had a lot of success their in the past. I don't know how much more exciting it can get than it was last year. Hopefully we will have a little better outcome. It’s going to be tough to tie it up at Bristol the Hobgoods are all ways good at Bristol."

The Hobgoods are not out of the championship hunt just yet. Justin (No. 65 Germain Motorsports Pontiac) is seconded in the Goody's Dash Series championship trialing by 78 points behind Huffman and brother Jake (No. 64 Germain Motorsports Toyota) the 2002 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Champion is in third place 114 points behind Huffman. Only 36 points separate both Hobgoods from second and third place.

"We can’t wait to get back to Bristol. For Justin and myself Bristol is a special place and boy it can also be a rough place. We are not out of hunt yet especially how quickly things can change at Bristol were anything and everything can happen there. If we can stay out of any incidents and finish in the top five than we will have a good shot of going into Atlanta with a chance to win the Championship."

The Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring rookie of the year battle will be filled with plenty of excitement going in to Bristol with only six points separating points leader TJ Majors (No. 26 Moss Motorsports Pontiac) from Taylorsville, NC resident Eric Wilson (No. 4 Old Milwaukee/John Boy & Billy Pontiac) and Concord, NC resident Jay Godley (18 MRD Motorsports Pontiac) who are tied for second place. For Godley and Wilson they know how tough running at Bristol for Majors he will be getting his first taste at on of the toughest short tracks on the NASCAR circuit.
