2002 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Champion Jake Hobgood Picks Up His First Win Of 2003 At South Boston

South Boston, VA (June 14, 2003) — The Hobgoods dominated the field at South Boston Speedway Saturday night as the 2002 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Champion Jake Hobgood picked up his first win of the 2003 season.

The No. 64 Germain Automotive Toyota of Jake Hobgood and the No. 65 Germain Automotive Pontiac of Justin Hobgood were strong all race long as they picked off cars one by one making their way to the front of the field. The 2002 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Champion passed Robert Huffman’s No. 37 White House Apple Juice Toyota on Lap 82 for the lead as Hobgood went on to take the win at South Boston Speedway. Rounding out the top five behind Hobgood was Justin Hobgood driver of the No. 64 Germain Automotive Toyota, Brandon Ward driver of the No. 11 Rayco Safety/ Fabrication/TRD Toyota, point's leader Robert Huffman driver of the No. 37 White House Apple Juice Toyota took home fourth place and Danny Bagwell driver of the No. 10 Sterling Casino Lines/Torbert Trucking/Five Brothers Produce Ford earned the fifth spot. 

Winston-Salem native Brandon Ward driver of the No. 11 Rayco Safety/Ram Fabrication TRD Toyota collected his first Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Bud Pole award setting a qualifying time of 16.235sec/88.599 mph. Danny Bagwell who started in 16th moved his No. 10 Sterling Casino Line/ Tolbert Trucking/Five Brothers Ford up 11 positions as he earned $350 and the POWERade "Power move of the race." TJ Majors driver of the No. 26 Moss Motorsports Pontiac took home a sixth place finish as he was the Goody’s Dash Series Rookie of the race.

The next event for Goody's Dash Series will be the GOODY'S 150 on June 28, 2003 at the famed 1/2 mile paved oval of Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC.
