Daytona Qualifying Information

In her first attempt of the 2003 season, Kelly Sutton's goal was to capture the pole at Daytona International Speedway in the Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring division. Kelly's times in the test session and overall practice were good enough to achieve that goal. Qualifying day brought light rain and cloudy skies to the track, as well as a damaged header to the car. The crew repaired it as best they could with the time available and Sutton ran a 56.227 (160.065 mph) to secure the 11th starting spot for the race. Sutton will start on the inside of the track in row six. Johnny Chapman qualified for the pole position with a laptime of 55.288 equaling a speed of 162.784 mph. Overall, Sutton qualified well and is looking forward to the Goody's Dash 150 on Sunday, Feb. 9.
