TESTING IS OFFICIALLY UNDER WAY AT DAYTONA FOR THE GOODY'S DASH SERIES

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The Goody’s Dash Series, NASCAR Touring division had it s first round of testing at the 2.5 mile tri-oval at the Daytona International Speedway.  Drivers dealt with chilly morning temperatures during their first of two sessions of the day.  Rookie Sean Murphy, driver of car #94 Pontiac, led the field in the morning session with a time of 55.660 (an average speed of 161.695).
 
Johnny Chapman had an impressive morning run as he posted a time of  55.790 (161.319mph), which was god enough for second fastest overall.  Rounding out the top five in the morning practice were Scott Weaver with a time of 56.525 (159.22mph), Angie Wilson at 56.655 (158.22mph) and three-time Goody’s Dash Series champion Robert Huffman.  Huffman had the fastest Toyota in the field with a time of 57.304 (157.052mph).

The weather warmed up in the afternoon and it showed in faster times by most drivers.  Johnny Chapman, driver of the #33 Pontiac topped the charts in the afternoon by improving on his morning time of 55.790 with an impressive 55.109 run (163.13mph).  Randy Humphrey, driver of the #93A Pontiac made a big jump from 12th fastest in the morning to 2nd fastest in the afternoon with a time of 55.153 (163.182mph).

Kelly Sutton took her #02 Team Copaxone Pontiac from 17th fastest in the morning to 3rd fastest time of the afternoon with a time of 55.331 (162.657mph).  Mario Gosselin, driver of the #16 Pontiac (55.398, 162.657mph) and rookie Sean Murphy (55.438, 162.344mph) rounded out the top five.
  
The Goody’s Dash Series resumes its second day of testing on January 18.  The morning session is scheduled for 9am and the afternoon practice will be held from 1pm - 5pm as teams will be allowed to draft for in the afternoon session.
