Kelly "Girl" Sutton Featured In People Magazine; Drawing Positive Attention For Goody's Dash Series And Up-And-Coming Drivers

September 16, 2002

KANSAS CITY, MO — Move over Madonna. Step aside Britney. Goody's Dash Series driver Kelly "Girl" Sutton is among those featured in the September 23rd edition of People magazine, one of the nation's leading publication with a circulation of nearly 10 million readers.

The story discusses Sutton's deep family history in racing and her rising career in the Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Division.

"Racing is my life. Being a third-generation driver, it's all I have ever wanted to do," Sutton said. "It's very humbling to be included in such a significant magazine for something I love so much. I hope this article will help bring even greater attention to our Goody's Dash Series and raise the profile of other drivers like me looking towards a long career in NASCAR."

Also highlighted in the article, Sutton's unique relationship with her sponsor — the manufacturer of the therapy she takes for her multiple sclerosis (MS).

"At nearly every race or fan event, I meet a person who has MS or knows someone struggling with the disease," Sutton said. "I am so blessed to be able to meet people, just like me, looking to just live life to its fullest despite a diagnosis of MS. Racing allows me to take the message out to fans that anyone can fulfill their dreams — I do it every time I get into my race car."

Sutton also has been featured on "The Today Show," CNN, and in numerous other publications. To follow Sutton throughout the season, and learn more about her inspirational story, log on to www.kellygirlsutton.com.
