Sutton Weathers Memphis Heat To Grab First Top Ten Finish Of The Season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The 100-degree heat was no match for Kelly Sutton and Team COPAXONE^® (glatiramer acetate injection) as they burned up the track at Memphis Motorsports Park. The team was thrilled to secure their first Top Ten finish of the season as Sutton rolled across the line in ninth place.

"We knew it was really going to be a great race," Sutton said. "We were pulling in amazing times during practice, sometimes running as fast as third place on the leader board. Memphis was hot, in more ways than one!"

Sutton started the race in a 12th-place position. After narrowly missing several collisions, Sutton pushed forward into the Top Ten. The race was not simple for Sutton, as she rubbed several times with drivers throughout the 100-lap race.

But Sutton pressed forward.

"It felt so good out there," an excited Sutton said. "Everything was in sync. The car was great and I felt really strong. This sets a great tone for us to do well at Greenville."

Sutton and the #02 Team COPAXONE^® Pontiac Sunfire head to Greenville, S.C., on July 13.
